I would make such a commitment, like the people in the Olympics do, for my future. I want to have a great future ahead of me. I will keep determination all the way through college. I will persevere through all the hardships. I will remind myself it will all be worth it in the long run, when I feel like giving up. I want to have a great job and make lots of money. To have a bright future, I will have to work for it.
My mom is someone who has made such a pledge. She has been on her own since she was 17. She lost her mother to breast cancer. I look up to my mom, she is my hero. She did everything by herself. She has done everything for my family and has taught me so much. I would not be the person I am today without her.

The Kite Runner - Book Review
Khaled Hosseini's powerful novel The Kite Runner fulfills the promise of fiction, awakening curiosity about the world around us.
The novel is about two boys in Afghanistan and Afghan immigrants in America. It looks at how the main character, Amir, deals with a secret in his past and how that secret shaped who he became. It tells of Amir's childhood friendship with Hassan, his relationship with his father,and growing up in a privileged place in society.
In the beginning, Amir was jealous of the time Baba and Hassan spent together. One day, Amir wins the local tournament, and he believes he finally wins Baba's praise.
Later on, Amir hears the truth about Hassan. When he finds out Hassan has passed away and left behind his son, Sohrab, he knows he has to do something. Sohrad is at first silent. After he opens up with Amir, he begs him to not leave him in another orphanage. Amir knows he needs to take care of his brothers son, so he takes him back to America with him.
This is a story about friendship, loyalty, cruelty, longing for acceptance, redemption and survival. I enjoyed this book a lot and would recommend it to anyone.

Spring Break 2010
This Spring Break is going to be the best! I am going to Colorado with my best friend, Baylee.
Baylee and I always have the best times together. There is never a dull moment between us. We have always been there for each other and always pick each other up when one of us is down.
Over Spring Break, we are going snow skiing. For my first time ever, I'm going to snowboard too. Let's just hope I don't come back broken! Thank goodness cheerleading tryouts are before the break!!
Baylee and I are both really friendly girls, so I'm sure we will meet a lot of new people while we are up there.
We are counting down the days until Spring Break. All we have to do is pack and then Colorado here we come!!

Civil War
My sister and I sometimes have civil wars amongst each other. Even though, we know we both love each other with all our hearts, we didn't always show it.
When I was younger, I always wanted to follow my sister and her friends around. I wanted to go every where they would go and do what they did. Ashton would always yell at me to leave her alone, but I never wanted to leave.
If Ashton had one of my shirts on, I of course had to wear that shirt that day. We would fuss and fight over who got to wear the shirt. If I had something of hers on she had to have it back too.
Before every pageant, I always wanted Ashton to do my make-up. Knowing how it would end up, I still wanted her to do it. We would always end up yelling at each other and sometimes I would end up in tears. Ruining my make-up, she had to fix it again.
As we have grown up, we have become a lot closer. She is one of my best friends. We have learned how to share and let each other borrow stuff. She has allowed me to go eat with her friends and be around them. She can get me ready for all my pageants and dances now without someone ending up hurt or in tears. She has always been there for me. I can always count on her with whatever I need.

The Crucible
Do you believe witchcraft was the cause? Arthur Miller's The Crucible, draws the reader back in time to the trying times of the Salem Witchcraft Trials.
In the beginning, the book takes place in Salem, Massachusetts during the 17 century. Where Abigail Williams seems to be in the middle of everything. She tries to blame everything on other people to keep her out of trouble.
They think that the Devil is hanging around the town of Salem, and they want him out. The only way that can happen is if all of the girls admit and repent their sins. John Proctor and Abigail have a conversation referring to their affair. Abigail wants him to confess his love for her, but he refuses to have any further involvement with her. Reverend John Hale, a man known to be an authority on the matter of witchcraft, is determined to drive the evil spirits away from Salem.
John Proctor's wife, Elizabeth, argues with him that he must go and turn Abby in to the court, saying that she is a fraud. John is reluctant to get involved with the witch-hunt.
At the court, depositions are given and names are mentioned. Anyone whose name is mentioned is questioned, specifically by Deputy Governor Danforth and Reverend Parris.
Chaos breaks out.
John Proctor goes to the court to try and save his wife. He brings Mary Warren to testify that all the girls were lying about the witchcraft. All of the girls are brought in for questioning. Abby maintains that she is telling the truth and accuses Mary of lying. John admits that he is a lecher and says that Abby is a whore. Elizabeth is brought in for questioning, but she denies that her husband is a lecher.
If you enjoy a book full of suspense, I recommend you read The Crucible by Aurthur Miller.

Bullying
Bullying is everywhere. People are all the time being bullied or bullying themselves. Have you ever been bullied by someone?
There are several kids that I see every day being bullied. I feel a bully is someone that has their own problems that they are dealing with or they themselves have been bullied. I believe that violence is never the answer.
I believe hands and words are not for hurting. Everyone has their own problems and situations. Bully's needs to handle their problems in another way instead of taking their anger out on someone else.

My most important thing to be thankful for is God. God created all the heavens and the earth. God is my savior and with him by your side you can do anything.
Also, I would have to say all my loved one's and family members are very important to me. I am very thankful for all of them. They are always there for me when I need them. Without their love, I would not be who I am today.
