Top ten things to be thankful for

1. God
2. All my loved one's
3. My friends
4. My health
5. My shelter
6. Freedom
7. Money
8. My safe environment
9. Peace
10. My car

My most important thing to be thankful for is God. God created all the heavens and the earth. God is my savior and with him by your side you can do anything.

Also, I would have to say all my loved one's and family members are very important to me. I am very thankful for all of them. They are always there for me when I need them. Without their love, I would not be who I am today.

Speak book review

Do you ever feel like no one understands you, or do you ever feel alone? You aren't the only one. Laurie Halse Anderson's novel Speak mesmerised me with her courage and strength.

In the beginning, Melinda Sordina, seems like a normal high school girl. She shuffles her way through the crowded hallways of her new school, her old friends are changing and she's having a hard time fitting in.

At an end of summer party, a senior boy named Andy took advantage of her. He rapped her. Dazed and drunk, Melinda called the cops but left before they arrived.

After that night, no one could forgive her. Her friends wouldn't talk to her, and everyone ignored her. No one wanted to listen to Melinda's explanations, and well, Melinda didn't even feel like talking to anyone about that night.

Melinda felt like an outcast. She had no friends to talk to. She carried the burden of this alone, confused, and tortured.

Even though, I do not know anyone who has gone through what Melinda had to. I do feel bullying is a big problem in the world today. People get bullied all the time. They are also too afraid to talk to someone about their problems.

I feel a good theme for Speak would be hands and words are not for hurting. Bullying is terrible. No one should feel afraid or feel like they are being bullied.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to every teenager. Teens need to read and understand how it is for someone that is bullied. They need to realize what some people are having to go through. And make sure that they are never treating someone with disrespect.
